SEWARD, NE (10/05/2017) The University Symphonic Band of Concordia University, Nebraska, will perform its spring concert at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017, at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward, Nebraska.

The Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band will both be playing throughout the evening. The program includes three marches: "Barnum and Bailey's Favorite," "On the Mall," and "Circus Day." Also featured will be Carmen Dragon's arrangement of "America, the Beautiful," Samuel Hazo's "Ride," and "Pirates of the Caribbean."

"I hope that the concert will be engaging and entertaining as it has a mix of beautiful settings of beloved hymn tunes, great marches, and patriotic and programmatic music," said Andrew Schultz, conductor of the Symphonic Band.

The University Symphonic Band was formed in 1906 and is the oldest continuing musical organization at Concordia. The ensemble places emphasis on sacred, multicultural and contemporary literature, as well as traditional concert band repertoire.
