PAUL SMITHS, NY (01/07/2016)(readMedia)-- Saturday, Jan. 16 – Cross-Country Ski Races

High school and open classic 5K and 10K races will be held at 11 a.m. $25/person on the day of the race only. The Paul Smith's College 10K classic collegiate invitational kicks off at 1 p.m.

Sunday, Jan. 17 – Cross-Country Ski Races

The Paul Smith's College 10K skate collegiate invitational begins at 9 a.m. High school and open skate 5K and 10K races will be held at 11 a.m. $25/person on the day of the race only.

Sunday, Jan. 17 – Sunday Ski and Music

Enjoy live music Sunday afternoons at the VIC. During the ski season, we will have a variety of talented local musicians playing in our great room from 1-3 p.m. until March 6.

Thursday, Jan. 21 – Volunteer Potluck

Get the scoop on upcoming events and activities. 5:30-7 p.m. Sign up for volunteer opportunities and organize training sessions. Bring a dish to pass and a place setting. We will meet for hors d'oeuvres at 5:30 p.m. Dinner is at 6 p.m.

Thursday, Jan. 21 – Armchair Traveler Lecture Series

Join Jack Drury at 7 p.m. for a talk titled "Adirondack Trails and Lodging," Drury will present plans to connect Adirondack communities with self-powered trails. $5/person or free for Friends of the VIC and volunteers.

Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays – Interpretive Snowshoe Walks

Diane Minutilli, former U.S. Forest Service interpretive naturalist will work with Paul Smith's College students to offer a variety of natural- and cultural-history walks designed to get you outside this winter. 10 a.m.-noon. $20/person, includes trail pass; $15 for season-pass holders; and $10 for Friends of the VIC with a season pass. Call for special family and group rates. Preregister by 5 p.m. the day before.
