Some elective classes in this program include consumer behavior, personal selling, and interpersonal communication, which gives you a way to give your creative art a practical medium to sell to clients."
"Animation and digital video are also among our popular electives for this major," UIU Professor of Graphic Design Don McComb said. "Overall, our emphasis on fundamentals and multi-disciplined applications makes us a good match for students wishing to transfer or sample our courses offerings. Depending on their interests, students also have the flexibility to explore course work in fine arts, communications and marketing."
Upper Iowa University offers graphic design online, as well as face-to-face at select locations. Courses are sequenced in such a way that design problems require more complex responses as students work through the various levels. Mastery of software is reinforced in the curriculum; however, conceptual abilities and critical thinking are privileged over technical skills.
