ANNVILLE, PA (11/01/2013)(readMedia)-- Lebanon Valley College's VALE Music Group will host its 9th annual Vale Music Industry Conference on Nov. 23, with panels and discussions featuring music industry heavyweights such as Shelly Yakus and Anthony DeCurtis.

Yakus engineered hit records for John Lennon, Tom Petty, Stevie Nicks, among others, while DeCurtis wrote for Rolling Stone Magazine and has written several books, most recently the Clive Davis autobiography. He received a Grammy for the liner notes for an Eric Clapton record. Others coming from as far away as Nashville, LA, and Boulder Colorado include Steve Lorenz, former president of the Gospel Music Association and Rob Case, President of New Pants Publishing.

Professionals from all segments of the entertainment industry descend upon Annville to participate in the conference. This year's conference will cover topics like music publishing, studio recording, music journalism, digital communications, a guitar set-up workshop, and much more.

Each fall semester, LVC students work together to plan the music industry conference. Every aspect of this major event is planned by the students including inviting music industry professionals to speak on panels and host presentations, creating and updating the website (vale-mic.com), figuring out logistics and financials, and event marketing. The VALE Music Industry Conference is a student led initiative, along with VALE-Records, VALE-Publishing, and soon VALE-Booking.

Admission is free for those who pre-register by Nov. 19. Those who do not pre-register will be required to pay a $5 admission fee at the door. Lunch is included for all attendees. For more information or to pre-register for the Vale Music Industry Conference, please visit VALE-mic.com.
