Vietnam Veterans Welcome Home Ceremony (UPDATED DATE)

AUGUSTA, ME (06/12/2015)(readMedia)-- - Brigadier General Gerard F. Bolduc, Acting Adjutant General of Maine, invites media to attend the 2015 Vietnam Veterans Welcome Home Ceremony on June 14, at the Cross Center in Bangor at 1 p.m.
The Vietnam Veterans Welcome Home ceremony is part of the State of Maine's ongoing recognition of Vietnam veterans. The State has partnered with the Bangor Troop Greeters and the Department of Defense to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War.
Maine has over 44,000 Vietnam Veterans today. This ceremony will recognize the largest group of Vietnam Veterans to date with over 900 Vietnam Veterans registered to attend this historic event with their families.
Homecomings are a long-time military tradition and demonstrate the appreciation we all share for their service. This symbolic ceremony allows the community to thank and honor veterans of the Vietnam War, including personnel who were held as prisoners of war or listed as missing in action, for their service and sacrifice.
