WAMC Northeast Public Radio Wins Major Awards for Outstanding Programming

Repeat broadcasts of these award-winning programs can be heard during WAMC's special July 4th holiday schedule

ALBANY, NY (06/28/2013)(readMedia)-- WAMC Northeast Public Radio received two major awards for excellence in broadcasting from The New York State Broadcasters Association.

"This wonderful news," said WAMC President Alan Chartock. "It justifies all the faith that our listeners have in our station as we continue our struggling effort to provide award-winning programming. We just say thank you for keeping the faith."

Dear Bully - A Look at Bullying in America won Best Individual Public Affairs Program or Series. Dear Bully illustrates the troubling issues our students, parents and teachers are facing in school today. The award for Best Feature Story was given to WAMC's Lucas Willard for his piece: Musicologist Dr. Neil Lerner Discusses the Sounds of Early Video Games.
