WAMC'S THE ROUNDTABLE BROADCASTS LIVE FROM THE HYDE COLLECTION IN GLENS FALLS

ALBANY, NY (06/21/2013)(readMedia)-- WAMC is proud to present a very special edition of The Roundtable, broadcast live from The Hyde Collection on Monday, June 24th from 9 a.m. to noon.

Hosted by The Roundtable's Joe Donahue, and WAMC's President and CEO, Dr. Alan Chartock, Monday's program will focus on The Hyde's current exhibition, Modern Nature: Georgia O'Keeffe and Lake George. According to Chartock, "We're so pleased to partner with The Hyde, which is an absolute gem among upstate museums, and to help kick off this first ever exhibition of O'Keeffe's work created exclusively in Lake George, on the Stieglitz estate." He adds, "I can't think of a more fitting way for the station to celebrate the summer arts season in our area."

First opened to the public in 1963, The Hyde Collection has become a vital community resource, distinguishing itself as a major center for arts and education. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, the Museum's educational role in the region has continued to expand and positively impact the greater Capital Region.

This is the first time WAMC has broadcasted from the Hyde. Donahue explains, "The Hyde Collection is one of my favorite museums. We have been trying to broadcast from there for years and I am thrilled all the pieces have come together. I am especially pleased to explore the museum's look at Georgia O'Keefe and her relationship to Lake George. It exemplifies the museum's mission to showcase the art collection of their founders as well as present the extraordinary work done by an art icon during the years she lived in the Adirondacks."

In addition to lively conversations about the museum and its current offerings, other highlights of the program will include visits with leaders from some of the region's other vital organizations, like the Lake George Association, Wiawaka Holiday House, The Adirondack Theatre Festival, and Davidson Brothers.

The Roundtable broadcast will air from 9:00 a.m. to noon ET on all WAMC Northeast Public Radio frequencies and will stream live at www.wamc.org. Program segments will be available online by Monday evening at wamc.org/programs/roundtable.

WAMC will also be live-tweeting the broadcast and posting photos at www.twitter.com/WAMCRoundtable. For more photos, see WAMC's Facebook page, www.facebook.com/WAMCRadio.
