WAMC Unveils Revamped Evening Programming - On-Air and On Demand

ALBANY, NY (09/14/2026) (readMedia)-- WAMC Northeast Public Radio is proud to announce a new suite of content highlighting the best in regional journalism, to begin broadcast on Sept. 16, 2026.

Each day at 3 p.m. ET, on the radio and streaming live, Northeast Notebook Live will feature a deep dive into an issue of regional importance, providing context on how it's affecting local communities. The live show will also feature analysis of the headlines and interviews with newsmakers and journalists to provide a broad overview of topics that matter most to our listeners, such as affordability, sustainability, and education. Northeast Notebook Podcast will be available on all the usual platforms 10 minutes each weekday from 5 p.m. ET onward, featuring the newsroom's best, in-depth reporting on stories that resonate across the region. Northeast Notebook will regularly feature reporting by the Times Union, The Berkshire Eagle, the Adirondack Explorer and other regional partners, alongside reporting from WAMC's own journalists.

"From backyards to front stoops, meetups to group texts, important conversations are already ongoing in our communities," said Andrew Waite, news director at WAMC. "By tapping into the region's best journalism, Northeast Notebook will become a hub of what's happening in our hometowns."

Northeast Notebook Live will be on the air from 3 p.m. through 4 p.m. ET every weekday and Northeast Notebook Podcast will be available on demand at 5 p.m. ET. Coming later this year, WAMC will launch a Northeast Notebook newsletter, and debut Northeast Notebook live and on demand via YouTube.
