LEXINGTON, VA (04/03/2012)(readMedia)-- Kathryn A. Iwata of Pasadena, Calif, a senior at Washington and Lee University, has received the VFIC/Altria Leadership Scholarship. The scholarships are administered by the Virginia Foundation of Independent Colleges (VFIC) and are made possible by charitable donations from Altria.
Iwata was nominated by Dr. Kenneth P. Ruscio, president of Washington and Lee University. Demonstration of leadership potential; and career, work, and life skills; a declared major; and a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average are among the criteria required for selection.
A biochemistry major at W&L, Iwata is a member of the varsity cross country team and Chi Omega sorority. She is a graduate of Flintridge Preparatory School in La Canada, Calif.
