Wauwatosa native honored by Marquette University's Department of Biological Sciences

MILWAUKEE, WI (05/23/2013)(readMedia)-- MILWAUKEE – Laura Mark, daughter of Randolph and Mary Kay Mark, was honored with the Research Award in Physiological Sciences by Marquette University's Department of Biological Sciences. Mark, of Wauwatosa, Wis., graduated in May with a bachelor of science in physiological sciences with a second major in Spanish.

The Department of Biological Sciences Research Award in Physiological Sciences recognizes outstanding achievement in research by a junior or senior majoring in the department. The award committee selects the winner from nominations from faculty of students who have displayed talent for research, including initiative, independence and the ability to design and carry out experiments on their own.

Mark conducted her research with Dr. Robert Fitts, chair and professor of biological sciences.
