Weekend Pa. Turnpike Lane Restrictions between New Stanton, Irwin Interchanges
Westbound single-lane pattern likely to cause delays Saturday
NEW STANTON, PA (04/27/2011)(readMedia)-- Westbound motorists on the Pennsylvania Turnpike mainline (Interstate 76) will encounter a 7.5-mile long single-lane pattern at milepost 74.5 -- about 1 mile west of the New Stanton Exit (#75). The westbound single-lane will be in effect from 10 p.m. April 29 until 2 p.m. April 30, weather permitting.
Westbound turnpike travelers should be aware of the chance for slow-moving or stopped traffic near New Stanton, with possible delays between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
The contractor, New Enterprise, will be line painting and shifting concrete barrier in the work zone. Once the barrier shift begins, the single-lane pattern must stay in place until all barrier segments are relocated. The single-lane restriction is needed for a traffic stage switch as part of the Turnpike's Milepost 67-74 total-reconstruction project.
