COLCHESTER, VT (07/26/2012)(readMedia)-- Nattassia Marshall, the daughter of Michael and Suzanne Marshall of Wells River, was named a Saint Michael's College Presidential Scholar, providing her with full tuition support for attendance at Saint Michael's.

Ms. Marshall, a 2012 graduate of Blue Mountain Union School, earned this special award reserved for Vermont's top students through a competitive application. The Presidential Scholarship may be renewed each year for a maximum of four years. In addition to top academic qualifications, scholarship recipients are chosen on the basis of their leadership qualities, commitment to community service and potential to contribute to the Saint Michael's community. Only two such awards were granted this year.

"I chose Saint Michael's because of the environment at the school," Ms. Marshall wrote. "St. Mike's is such a welcoming community...Everyone who works at or attends the school just wants to help you succeed and to be happy!"

Ms. Marshall was Valedictorian of her class at Blue Mountain and president of the World Language Club. She was also co-captain of the varsity cheerleading squad and earned the Black Letter for MVP. She travelled on a school trip to Paris in February of her junior year, and regarded it as a rare and valuable experience.

About her choice of Saint Michael's she added, "I feel St. Mike's is the best school to help me release my full potential and accomplish all of my goals. They encourage internships, study abroad, and so much more, so I can gain new experiences and be prepared for my career."
