PHILADELPHIA, PA (07/08/2011)(readMedia)-- West Allen Hurst resident Frederick Knittel was a speaker on behalf of the Class of 2011 at Drexel University's commencement ceremony honoring the graduates Drexel's Antoinette Westphal College of Media Art & Design. More than 5,000 students received degrees from Drexel this year at the University's 124th Commencement.

Knittel received a bachelor of science in business administration from Drexel's Antoinette Westphal College of Media Art & Design. Knittel attended Ocean Township High School.

Honorary degree recipients at the ceremony were:

Corry Flinton, a foreign correspondent for National Public Radio whose career has taken him to more than 50 countries, most recently to Egypt, to cover the revolution and to Afghanistan, to report on the Afghan war.

Guy G. Garrison, Ph.D., emeritus professor and emeritus dean of Drexel University's Graduate School of Library Science, as it was then known.

Melba Pearlstein, an emeritus trustee of Drexel and the president of the Leonard Pearlstein Family Foundation
