ASHLAND, OH (05/15/2013)(readMedia)-- Heather Bumbalough of West Liberty was named salutatorian at Ashland University's spring commencement ceremony held on May 11.
Bumbalough received a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics degree and graduated with Summa Cum Laude and Gamma Alpha Kappa honors.
The daughter of Lee and the late Kathryn Bumbalough of West Liberty, is a 2009 graduate of West-Liberty Salem High School.
At West Liberty-Salem High School, Bumbalough was a member of the National Honor Society and participated in cross country and track as well as Science Olympiad before graduating as salutatorian of her class.
At Ashland University, she served as co-president of Peers Promoting Organized Wellness and served as a peer tutor for anatomy and physiology classes. She is heading to an internship at Vanderbilt University, where she will continue her plans to become a registered dietician.
