ELMIRA, NY (12/12/2018) This week's #WhatToDoWednesday spotlight on campus clubs and activities is all about Student Alumni Council (SAC). This group is made up of passionate students who enjoy volunteering and helping to plan numerous alumni and student events including Reunion, Athletics Alumni Weekend (AAW), and Octagon Fair.

SAC members also fundraise to benefit the students on campus, raising thousands of dollars over the years to complete countless campus projects. As well as aiding in several alumni-related, student-run events, SAC offers finals de-stress activities, end-of-term celebrations, mock interviews, advice on what to wear to a job interview, interactive games that develop leadership and communication skills, and do-it-yourself activities.

Student Alumni Council (SAC) is a great match if you are interested in networking with alumni, having fun, developing leadership and communication skills, and learning about professionalism. Students are chosen for an executive planning committee and take on leadership roles to make sure that each event is a success. Join a committee to build your resume while having fun with friends and the wonderful Elmira College alumni!

Ashley Trafton '19, finance chair of SAC, said, "I joined because a friend of mine referred me because she heard I was interested in some of the events that SAC puts on. I believe other students should get involved because it allows students to make a connection to our alumni and see, through their eyes, what it is about the campus that they love."

SAC meets every Thursday at 5:15 PM in the Campus Center's Tifft Lounge. Follow them on Instagram (@ec_sac) and Facebook (@Elmira College Student Alumni Council).
