Wheaton College (Ill.) Jack Guenther named the CCIW Men's Tennis Player of the Week

Thunder senior Jack Guenther was selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Tennis Player of the Week by the conference office.

Guenther was 3-0 in singles competition last week and teamed with Panjwani for a 3-0 record at No. 3 doubles. He defeated North Central's Lucas Pindak 6-2, 6-2 on April 23, earned a win against Augustana's Leonardo Panosso 6-2, 6-3 on April 24, and was victorious against Millikin's Nick Laramee 6-2, 6-4 on April 27. Guenther and Panjwani defeated North Central's Justin Howes and Pindak 8-4, picked up a win against Augustana's Jack Morkin and Caio DeRezende 8-3, and were winners against the Millikin tandem of Laramee and Holden Owens 8-4.

Wheaton College sponsors 21 varsity sports, and Thunder teams compete at the NCAA Division III level. The Thunder Athletics program has won five NCAA Division III Championships since 1984, and Wheaton student-athletes have won 31 Division III individual National Championships all-time.
