"Whip" Claims State Fair Big Ram Crown

DES MOINES, IA (08/08/2024) (readMedia)-- "Whip," the 5-year old Suffolk ram owned by Craig Fetters of Lucas, won first place in the Big Ram Contest, held Thursday August 8, at the 2024 Iowa State Fair. Whip weighed in at 498 pounds.

Second place was claimed by 460 ½-pound "Darin," a 2 ½-year old Suffolk ram shown by Abby Wilson of Shell Rock.

A total of 7 rams competed in the event this year, making it the largest field of entrants in over a decade.
