POTSDAM, NY (09/09/2010)(readMedia)-- SUNY Potsdam's Department of Theatre and Dance will soon welcome Pendragon Theatre for one evening only, presenting a production of "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" by Edward Albee. The performance will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18 in the College Theater in Satterlee Hall.

Edward Albee's masterful dark comedy delves into the heart and soul of a volatile marriage in a searing night of dangerous fun and games. The play stunned audiences and critics when it opened in 1963, and was quickly labeled a masterpiece.

"Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" has been called "an irreplaceable experience … a crucial event in the birth of American theatre" by The Village Voice and "deeply and truly a love story" by the New York Times.

Pendragon Theatre's production is directed by Anita Montgomery, and features Donna Moschek, a 2008 SUNY Potsdam graduate and alumna of the Department of Theatre and Dance, as well as Susan Neal, a theatre lecturer at the College, alongside Tyler Nye and Bob Pettee.

Pendragon Theatre, the Adirondack's only year-round professional theatre, is supported in part with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, a state agency; a CAP grant from the Arts Council for the Northern Adirondacks; corporate sponsors, including Guide Boat Realty and Homenergy Services, as well as foundations, businesses and individuals.

Tickets will cost $12 for general admission, $10 for SUNY Potsdam faculty and staff and senior citizens and $5 for students with ID. Seating at the performance will be by general admission and tickets will be sold at the door beginning at 6:30 p.m.
