HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA (05/09/2012)(readMedia)-- At Final Convocation on April 26, Hampden-Sydney College junior Wiley Lloyd Narron received the Gemborys-Choate-Bouin-Swenson Award for International Studies, presented by Professor Shirley Kagan, Elliott Professor of Theatre. The Award for International Studies is presented annually to a student who has participated in a College-recognized foreign study experience during the previous year, and who has best demonstrated personal growth by incorporating broader world views into his daily life.
Through Hampden-Sydney's Global Education and Study Abroad program, Wiley studied at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland for a year and participated in the May Term program to Greece and Turkey during the summer of 2010. He was named a Madison Scholar and is a member of the honor society Eta Sigma Phi (classics) and the social fraternity Psi Chi. A psychology major, Wiley graduated from Greenfield School and is the son of James & Julia Narron and Alice Adelman, all of Smithfield.
