SPRINGFIELD, MA (06/28/2013)(readMedia)-- William D. Ferguson of East Longmeadow received the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering Award for Outstanding Senior during Baccalaureate ceremonies at Western New England University. James Moriarty, associate professor of Electrical Engineering, presented the award, praising Ferguson as "that rare student who takes chances and loves the challenge, who takes it personally when he meets a design obstacle and works tirelessly in the lab until the problem is solved."
Ferguson graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He is a member of the Tau Beta Pi, Sigma Beta Tau, and Alpha Lambda Delta honor societies as well as the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. While at Western New England University, Ferguson interned at Westfield Gas and Electric and FloDesign Inc.
