DES MOINES, IA (08/11/2016)(readMedia)-- Iowa's amateur beer makers brewed their best for the beer portion of the Amateur Oenology competition judged prior to the start of the 2016 Iowa State Fair.
Craig Manning of Ankeny won Best of Show honors in the Mead & Cider division with his Blueberry Melomel. Matt Melcher of Norwalk was awarded Best of Show honors in the Beer division with his Classic American Pilsner.
Eighty-nine exhibitors entered 288 brews in 30 categories.
