Ron Carkoski, president and CEO, Four Seasons Family of Companies

ELIZABETHTOWN, PA (02/12/2014)(readMedia)-- M&M Mars has partnered with the Elizabethtown College Department of Business to create an Executive Lecture Series geared toward bringing senior level executives from various industries to talk about their businesses and engage the audience in discussions about programs offered to their customers.

From now through May, local leaders discuss what makes their businesses tick. Cost for the series is free. All lectures take place at 11 a.m. in the College's Leffler Chapel and Performance Center or Hoover 212. Contact: Lisa Rosenberger at rosenbergerl@etown.edu or 717-361-1982.

Ron Carkoski, president and CEO, Four Seasons Family of Companies

Four Seasons is one of the largest independent produce wholesalers in the country. Carkoski started with the company in December 1994 as director of procurement. He was promoted to vice president of operations and is now president and CEO.

Carkoski provides oversight of design and development of the company's new 260,000-square foot distribution center. He also developed three new operating companies: Sunrise Logistics Inc., a third party logistics provider; Sunrise Transport Inc., a for-hire transportation fleet; and Earth Source trading Inc., a grower representative and importer of select fresh fruit and vegetables.

Stefanie Patounas, controller, The Boys and Girls Club of Lancaster speaks on "What It Takes to Run a Not-For-Profit: A Corporate Accountant's Perspective on the Rewards and Challenges"

The Boys & Girls Club of Lancaster serves more than 4,700 children in Lancaster and Columbia, Pa., with exciting and positive after school programs. Membership is available to all children ages 6-18 for just $1 per year.

Stefanie Patounas, controller of the Boys & Girls Club, received her bachelor's degree in accounting from Elizabethtown College. She spent several years in corporate finance and accounting before making the jump into the nonprofit sector. In her current role, Patounas applies her financial expertise to create a positive impact in the community, echoing the College's motto, "Educate for Service."

Dr. Thomas Winpenny, professor of History, Elizabethtown College

Winpenny, a native of Philadelphia, Pa., and a professor of history at Elizabethtown College discusses "The Anatomy of A Murder: How Does A Firm with Sales of 2.4 Billion Vaporize in 2012?"

Winpenny earned bachelor's and master's degrees from Pennsylvania State University and his doctoral degree from the University of Delaware where he was a Hagley Fellow. He served as editor for "Pennsylvania History" and the Economics and Business Historical Society. His primary research focus is on 19th- and 20th-century American business, industry and technology.
