Young Jewish Leadership PAC Endorses Zeldin
Lauds Candidate’s National Security Credentials, Honor, Integrity
MASTIC, NY (03/14/2008)(readMedia)-- The endorsed Republican candidate for New York’s First Congressional District today picked up another important endorsement from a major leadership-focused organization.
In a release announcing the endorsement, the Young Jewish Leadership PAC cited GOP Candidate Lee Zeldin’s leadership experience, honor and integrity in addition to his commitment to national security as the reasons for the endorsement.
“We’re thrilled to pick up this endorsement from the Young Jewish Leadership PAC today,” said Zeldin. “The goals of our campaign are consistent with the interests of the YJLPAC. We’re wholly committed to strengthening the ties between the US and pro-Israel community.”
The leadership of the YJLPAC was very impressed with numerous aspects of Zeldin’s experience and his campaign organization.
“Lee Zeldin, a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserve, is an American who has served his country at every step of his career and, while stationed in Iraq, witnessed firsthand the degradations committed by the forces of Islamic terrorism that threaten the United States, its allies and those who love freedom everywhere,” stated Young Jewish Leadership PAC Chairman Lawrence Scheer in a release issued this week. “The state of Israel, which for years has been subjected to Islamic terrorism, would find a friend and staunch ally in Lee at this incredibly important time in American and world history – a time when Democratic presidential candidates have said that they would be willing to meet with anti-Semites and America-haters, like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the leaders of Syria, without any preconditions attached,” Scheer said.
The YJLPAC’s Press Officer, Boris Noble, also stated that “Lee’s opponent, Tim Bishop, would continue more of the same broken policies that many in the Democratic Party have adopted. It is well known that al-Qaeda has tried to infiltrate America through many means, legally and illegally, across its borders. In dangerous times like these, it is key that we have people like Lee Zeldin in Congress.”
Zeldin served as an aide to State Senator Kenneth P. LaValle. The Shirley resident studied at the University at Albany, graduated from Albany Law School, and earned his commission through Army ROTC. He was a paratrooper, prosecutor and magistrate with the 82nd Airborne Division and XVIII Airborne Corps. In the summer of 2006, he was a JAG attorney deployed to Iraq. He is currently an attorney at Raiser & Kenniff on Long Island.
