Youngsters Can Crow About Winning State Fair Awards

DES MOINES, IA (08/09/2024) (readMedia)-- Young contestants put their rooster crowing skills to the test in the Rooster Crowing Contest judged Thursday, August 8, at the 2024 Iowa State Fair.

Judges awarded first place honors to Ryan Barton of West Des Moines.

Wesley Pittmann of Omaha, Nebraska claimed second place.

Owen Russell of Monticello earned third place honors.

The contest was part of "Rural Americana Olde Tyme Competitions" in Farm Bureau Pioneer Hall. A first prize of $5 and ribbons were awarded to each class.
