Zeldin Releases Congressional Clock on Website

New Addition to Web Tracks Vacation Time of Do-Nothing Congress

PATCHOGUE, NY (08/20/2008)(readMedia)-- Lee Zeldin, the Republican and Conservative Party candidate for New York's First Congressional District, wants to know: how many vacation days have you earned this year? How many have you used? Do you have any coworkers that abuse their time off? Does it bother you when they do abuse their time off?

If you're an average American, you probably earn a couple weeks a year and have probably used the majority of them over the course of the summer. Everybody has coworkers that abuse their time off and everybody hates it when they do.

Would you believe that Congress has already taken more than 10 weeks vacation in 2008? To add insult to injury they have much more on the way!

It would be hard to argue that anyone deserves this much vacation, but when you have a nine percent approval rating from the people that pay your salary, this time off is downright offensive.

Lee Zeldin's tired of this abuse of public office. Keeping Congress honest, Zeldin today announced that his Web site will host the 2008 Congressional Vacation Clock that will track the time off taken by the do-nothing 110th Congress.

Go to http://www.zeldin08.com/index.html to view Congress' astounding success in taking time off.

The clock will run continuously until after Labor Day, when Congress returns from their latest rendezvous. Incredibly, the clock will start back up soon thereafter when Congress returns to its time off.
