LENOX, MA (03/22/2012)(readMedia)-- Berkshire Country Day School and the Berkshire Hills Regional School District are pleased to present a talk with Dr. Edward M. Hallowell, child and adult psychiatrist, world-renown speaker and New York Times bestselling author, on Monday, April 23. Dr. Hallowell will speak about his book "Childhood Roots of Adult Happiness," as well as Attention Deficit Disorder.
The talk will begin at 7 pm and is free to the public. It will be held at Berkshire Country Day School (55 Interlaken Rd, Stockbridge, MA 01262).
Dr. Hallowell, a father of three, argues that we don't need statistical studies or complicated expert opinions to raise children. What we do need is love, wonder, and the confidence to trust our instincts. His inspiring book outlines a five-step plan that all parents can use to give their children the gift of happiness that will last a lifetime. Connection, play, practice, mastery, and recognition-these five concepts hold the keys to raising children with healthy self-esteem, moral awareness, and spiritual values. Dr. Hallowell explores each step in depth and shows how they work together to foster trust, respect, and joy.
