Afolkey resident Caleb Carr elected to Olivet's 2013 Homecoming Court
BOURBONNAIS, IL (11/07/2013)(readMedia)-- Caleb Carr of Afolkey was part of the Queen's Court for the 59th Homecoming coronation ceremony at Olivet Nazarene University on November 6, 2013. Chosen by his peers for this honor, he is a senior double majoring in music and religious studies, and a leader among the student body. He is the son of David and Caren Carr.
Currently, Carr is fulfilling his call to ministry through his service as a resident assistant at Olivet. He has also participated in Orpheus Choir, multiple intramural sports, Preaching Ambassadors - and as many campus events as possible. He is planning to continue his studies after graduation in order to learn more about how to serve like Christ.
He escorted Hillary Vaughn (Kankakee, Ill.).
Katharyn Schrader (Monmouth, Ill.), the Homecoming Queen, was escorted by Adrian Calhoun (New Paris, Penn.).
Other members of the 2013 Homecoming Court, all seniors and also chosen by their peers for this honor, are: Christine Caven (Boise, Idaho), escorted by Benjamin Geeding (Manteno, Ill); Lillian Guenseth (Galesburg, Ill.), escorted by Matthew Jones (Eureka, Ill.); Hannah Taylor (Fenton, Mich.), escorted by Kyle Miller (Sesser, Ill.).
Olivet's Homecoming Queen and members of her Court have been honored each year since 1955. The Queen is a senior woman chosen by the student body. She is person of integrity; gives glory to God in her life; helps others feel loved and accepted; and expresses Olivet's academic, social, and spiritual ideals.
