ALBANY, NY (05/07/2015)(readMedia)-- Hoffman Warnick LLC, an intellectual property law firm based in Albany, NY, is proud to announce the appointment of Amanda J. Smith as Associate.

Ms. Smith's practice focuses on patent prosecution. Her technical experience includes chemistry and medical devices. Prior to joining Hoffman Warnick LLC, she was an intellectual property intern at AngioDynamics, Inc. where she was involved with patent prosecution and legal research. Ms. Smith also served as an intern at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's Technology Commercialization Office where she worked closely with inventors to identify patentable inventions. As a student at Albany Law School, Ms. Smith performed prior art searches for start-up companies out of the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering, and has researched university IP polices for the State University of New York Research Foundation.

Ms. Smith's background includes a B.S. in Chemistry from State University of New York at Plattsburgh and a J.D. from Albany Law School. Ms. Smith is admitted to practice in the State of New York, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
