American Concrete Donates Land To the Iowa State Fair

DES MOINES, IA (08/12/2008)(readMedia)-- American Concrete, a subsidiary of OMG Midwest, has donated eight acres of land to the Iowa State Fair. The land is adjacent to the Fairgrounds on the northeast side and will be used to expand the campgrounds. The gift is valued at $88,000.

"This generous gift not only helps to further the mission of the Blue Ribbon Foundation, but adds to the Fairgrounds itself as well," said Blue Ribbon Foundation Executive Director John Putney. "We are thankful to American Concrete for their support of the Iowa State Fair and we look forward to working with them in the future."

"For many years the Des Moines community and the State of Iowa have contributed to the continuous growth of American Concrete. We consider this donation to be a gesture of our appreciation for all of the support we have received over the years and to demonstrate our commitment to the community," said American Concrete President Chris West. "We hope the property is utilized by many for years to come."

"Every inch of the Fairgrounds has something on it," said Gary Slater, CEO of the Iowa State Fair. "To be given the gift of land is very valuable and we appreciate the generosity of American Concrete."

American Concrete will be recognized for their contribution on Tuesday, August 12 at 2:15 on the Anne & Bill Riley Stage on the Iowa State Fairgrounds.
