MILWAUKEE, WI (07/20/2012)(readMedia)-- Christopher Frenier, son of David and Sandra Frenier, was honored with the Francis X. Boden Memorial Award from Marquette University's Department of Philosophy. Frenier graduated in May with a bachelor of arts in philosophy with second majors in economics and German.
The Francis X. Boden Memorial Award is presented annually to an undergraduate social philosophy major in the graduating class selected by the philosophy faculty on the basis of academic achievement in social philosophy. The award honors Mr. Francis X. Boden who graduated from Marquette College in 1895 and practiced law in Milwaukee until his death in 1935. Throughout his life, Mr. Boden had a deep interest in philosophy. The student receives $100 in books of the winner's choice. Frenier was selected for the award by the faculty for demonstrating outstanding achievement in the study of social philosophy.
Frenier also received the Walter Froehlich Memorial Award from Marquette University's Department of Economics. The Walter Froehlich Memorial Award is given to the senior majoring in economics that has attained the highest academic performance throughout their career at Marquette, as determined by their cumulative grade point average. The student receives $100 and a subscription to the Economist.
