FULTON, MO (06/07/2012)(readMedia)-- Anna Casaleggi of St. Louis, Mo., was recognized for her academic dedication and campus involvement during the Academic Convocation and Co-Curricular Honors Banquet at William Woods University last month.

Casaleggi, who graduated in May, was recognized as Distinguished Scholar in Physical Education. The faculty of various disciplines at William Woods have the opportunity each spring to designate one graduating senior as a Distinguished Scholar. A minimum grade point average of 3.4 is required, but the faculty may consider other relevant academic factors and variables in the selection process.

Casaleggi was also one of 15 WWU students named to the 2012 edition of "Who's Who among Students in American Universities and Colleges" based on outstanding campus leadership.

A campus nominating committee and editors of the annual directory chose the Who's Who students based on academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.

By being listed in "Who's Who," Casaleggi joins an elite group of students from more than 2,300 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states. Outstanding students have been honored in the annual directory since it was first published in 1934.

Casaleggi was a member of Order of Omega Greek honor society, Omicron Delta Kappa leadership honorary and President's Twenty. She also served as head community adviser for her residential hall and as president of the Athletic Training Student Organization.
