High school students from Michigan, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Virginia recently experienced the Rail and Intermodal Transportation Program (RITP) recently. RITP is a joint program between Michigan Technological University and the University of Wisconsin-Superior. RITP is designed for students with an interest in rail and intermodal transportation engineering. Students learn about and ride trains, giving them a first-hand look at locomotives in action. Participants are also given technical tours of rail and intermodal facilities in Marquette, Mich. and Duluth, Minn.
