RAYNHAM, MASS. (06/13/2012)(readMedia)-- Drivers that just can't get no satisfaction from their car might want to instead try a Buick. According to the recently released 2012 Vehicle Satisfaction Awards from AutoPacific and Autobytel Inc., Buick owners are the most satisfied in the Popular Brand category, proving that the sheen of the refreshed American lineup lasts beyond dealership lots.
To determine their annual Vehicle Satisfaction Awards, AutoPacific and Autobytel surveyed approximately 75,000 car owners that purchased a new 2012-model-year vehicle between September and December of 2011. Participants were asked to weigh in on 48 different areas of satisfaction, ranging from exterior style and power to cargo space and quietness inside. Based on that feedback, the Buick lineup ended up with the highest average rating of any popular brand.
"The great thing about the Vehicle Satisfaction Awards is that the actual owners are providing the feedback, not a journalist or panel of judges who have driven the car once," said Gary Carter, general sales manager of Mastria Buick GMC Cadillac, a Buick dealer in Massachusetts. "Living with a vehicle for three or four months gives you a real chance to develop an opinion, which is why Buick's win is that much more impressive."
Also impressive are Buick's May sales numbers, which increased 19 percent year-over-year thanks in large part to the popularity of the Buick Enclave, LaCrosse and the all-new Verano. The most affordable car in the lineup, the 2012 Buick Verano offers top-shelf amenities at a price that has proven tempting to consumers. Buick's new compact luxury sedan has moved 11,578 units year-to-date, with 3,609 Veranos flying off dealership lots in May alone.
Features like triple-sealed doors and acoustic-laminated glass give the Verano a quiet, up-market feel, while an available nine-speaker Bose premium sound system appeals to true audiophiles. Buick's optional IntelliLink technology adds even more high-tech allure, allowing voice control of smartphones and apps like Pandora internet radio and Stitcher Radio, which are displayed on a high-res touchscreen.
Owners of the 2012 Buick Verano also get more time between fuel stops to enjoy the interior, given the car's 32-mpg rating on the highway and driving range of around 480 miles. That efficiency comes from an advanced ECOTEC 2.4-liter engine, which still manages to produce 180 horsepower and 171 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, a refined six-speed automatic transmission makes the most of the power on hand, whether it is for swift acceleration or relaxed cruising on the highway.
"Value isn't typically a word associated with luxury cars, but with the Verano, it fits perfectly," noted Carter. "The car has cutting-edge technology and luxury amenities that are found in vehicles twice its price, yet it saves its owners a whole lot more each week at the gas pump."
