LENOX, MA (04/24/2015)(readMedia)-- Berkshire Country Day School, an independent school for students in preschool through ninth grade, is pleased to announce that 15 Upper School (grades 7-9) students were awarded certificates and medals for their high scores on the 2015 National Latin Exam. The NLE exam is sponsored both by the American Classical League and the National Junior Classical League. More than 153,000 students from 50 states and 20 foreign countries took the test in February.
For the Latin I National Exam, the following awards were earned: Gold Summa Cum Laude: Alex Currie, Pittsfield. Silver Maxima Cum Laude: Ria Kedia, Pittsfield. Magna Cum Laude: Fiona Ferrone, Spencertown, NY; Wilder Harwood, East Chatham, NY; and Dorree Ndooki, Great Barrington. Cum Laude: Diba De, Valatie, NY; Samantha Elliott, Pittsfield; Zach Goffin and Hayley Syrett, Great Barrington.
For the Latin II National Exam, the following awards were earned: Gold Summa Cum Laude: Sam Ferrone, Spencertown, NY; Finn Mathews and Henry Taylor, Lenox.
For the Latin III National Exam, the following awards were earned: Gold Summa Cum Laude: Alex Lederman, Pittsfield; Silver Maxima Cum Laude: Evan Sylbert, Monterey; and Magna Cum Laude: Julian Lindenmaier, Stockbridge.
