LENOX, MA (06/28/2011)(readMedia)-- Berkshire Country Day School, an independent school for students in preschool through ninth grade, is pleased to announce the election of five new members to its Board of Trustees:
Christopher Ferrone is the CFO/COO of Sykes Hollow Innovations, Ltd., a consumer products manufacturer. A graduate of Georgetown University School of Foreign Service, Chris was formerly a Vice President of International Sales for Index Stock Photography. In 2002 he founded Retrofile, Inc., a stock photo company he later sold to Getty Images, Inc. He then founded Chatham Brewing, LLC, of Chatham, NY.
Chris and his wife, Hilary, live in Spencertown, NY, with their two children who attend Berkshire Country Day School. Chris serves on the Finance Committee, is a jazz saxophonist who has played at numerous Berkshire Country Day School fundraisers, and, along with his wife, coaches lacrosse at BCD.
Tom O'Neil is a renowned abstract artist who has had his work exhibited throughout the United States and has selected collections at corporations such as Time Warner, Inc., Smith Barney, and Hallmark Cards. He is a graduate of Salisbury School, Skidmore College, and the Rhode Island School of Design, and he apprenticed with Red Grooms and David Novros. Tom is an Island Community Board Member for Fishers Island, NY.
Tom and his wife, Wendy, live in Stockbridge, MA, with their two children who attend Berkshire Country Day School. Tom serves on the Buildings and Grounds Committee.
Laura Rotenberg is Second Vice President and Counsel for Berkshire Life Insurance Company with more than twenty years of experience in corporate, regulatory, and litigation matters. She is a graduate of Brandeis University and received her Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law. Laura has served as President of the Berkshire Life Charitable Foundation, Vice President of Berkshire County Kids' Place and Violence Prevention Center and Vice President of the Kids' Place Advisory Board.
Laura and her husband, Jeffrey Yeager, reside in Lenox, MA, with their daughter who attends Berkshire Country Day School.
Jenney Smith is a Kindergarten and Lower School Science teacher at BCD. Jenney received her undergraduate degree from Colby College and a Master's from Lesley University. She previously taught Pre-kindergarten, Kindergarten and Second Grade in the Boston area before relocating to the Berkshires in 2009.
Cara Vermeulen is a co-owner of Lance Vermeulen Real Estate, Inc., one of the top grossing real estate firms in the Berkshires. She was formerly Associate Publisher of Berkshire Living magazine and worked in media at radio stations in Sharon, CT and the Florida Keys, where she won the Edward R. Murrow Award for Excellence. Cara and her husband, Lance, reside in South Egremont with their son who attends Berkshire Country Day School.
