Preschool students at Berkshire Country Day School in Stockbridge, MA, build bird nests as part of their hands-on learning

STOCKBRIDGE / LENOX, MA (07/15/2016)(readMedia)-- Please join Berkshire Country Day School, an independent school for grades Pre-K through 9, at two upcoming farmer's markets for hands-on nature crafts. Children ages 2 through 8 can build bird nests using clay, twigs, grass, and other natural materials, which they can then take home.

This activity was inspired by projects created by the BCD Preschool during their investigation of birds last year and is emblematic of BCD's experiential and project-based learning program and comprehensive curriculum.

Berkshire Country Day representatives will be at the Downtown Pittsfield Farmer's Market (Pittsfield Commons, First Street) on Saturday, July 23, from 9 am - 1 pm, and at the Great Barrington Farmer's Market (18 Church Street) on Saturday, July 30, from 9 am - 1 pm. These community activities are free and open to the public.
