Berkshire Country Day School Open House on February 21

Popular children’s illustrator Denise Brunkus to be guest speaker and sign books

LENOX, MA (01/23/2008)(readMedia)-- Berkshire Country Day School, an independent school serving students from Pre-kindergarten through Grade Nine, will be holding an Admissions Open House on Wednesday, February 21, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for families interested in learning more about the benefits of a BCD education.

Special guest, Denise Brunkus, illustrator of such popular children’s books as the Junie B. Jones series, Chocolatina, and Charlie Hits it Big, will start the morning off with a reading and discussion, followed by a book signing. Guests will then be invited to tour the BCD campus, meet members of the faculty and administration, and visit classrooms to get a first-hand look at what makes learning at BCD so special. Information on the school and financial aid will also be available.

The Denise Brunkus reading and Open House are both free and open to the public. Children are welcome. Pre-registration is required by calling BCD at 413-637-0755 or by emailing gjessiman@berkshirecountryday.org.

ABOUT DENISE BRUNKUS

Denise Brunkus is the illustrator of the bestselling Junie B. Jones series. She has also illustrated a number of picture books, including Groundhog Gets a Say, written by Pamela Curtis Swallow. When drawing Charlie, Denise was totally inspired by memories of her daughter Kate and her ever-lovin' guinea pig, Guin. According to Denise, "Years ago, pigs were big in our house!" She currently lives in Massachusetts with her husband.
