LENOX, MA (10/20/2011)(readMedia)-- Berkshire Country Day School is pleased to present its Upper School Theater Ensemble production of Rhinoceros, by Eugene Ionesco on Saturday, November 5 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday, November 6 at 2 p.m. at BCD's Winthrop Theater at 45 West Street in Lenox, MA. There will be suggested donations at the door.
Written in 1959, Rhinoceros is a three act production in which the inhabitants of a small, provincial French town turn into rhinoceroses; the only human who does not succumb to this mass metamorphosis is the central character. Directed by Amy Brentano, the production explores blind conformity and the absurdity of logic and life. Many of the nine member ensemble play multiple roles.
