Best Hog Call Wins the Prize

DES MOINES, IA (08/23/2023) (readMedia)-- Youth ages 5 to 16 and adults showed off their best hog call to impress the judges on Friday, August 18, at the 2023 Iowa State Fair.

Addison Denekas of Kamrar snatched first place in the Youth Hog Calling competition.

Kyle Barton of West Des Moines took first place in the Adult Hog Calling competition.

The contest was part of "Rural Americana Olde Tyme Competitions" in Farm Bureau Pioneer Hall. A first prize of $5 and ribbons were awarded to each class.
