BINGHAMTON, NY (06/25/2012)(readMedia)-- The Binghamton University Alumni Association has elected Lisa Abbott of Manhattan, NY, and Jared Kirschenbaum of Astoria, NY to its Board of Directors. Their terms of service begin July 1. The board is composed of 21 volunteers who are active in planning events and programs for an alumni body of more than 110,000.
Abbott, who earned her master of business administration degree from Binghamton in 1993, is chief human resource officer for Cornell University Medical College. As a student, she was involved with her residential community. Since graduating from Binghamton, she has attended several alumni events in the New York City area. Abbott is a member of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources. Her professional affiliations also include the American Association of Medical Colleges, the General Business Affairs Steering Committee, and University Pathfinders. Outside of work, she is a member of the New York Road Runners and American Alpine Club.
Kirschenbaum, who earned his bachelor's degree in political science in 2011, is a strategic consultant for Salzinger, LLC. A leader in the student community, he was a finalist in the 2010 Alumni Association Exemplary Student Award competition. He was president of the Student Association, CEO of Off Campus College Transport and the recipient of the Paul J. Battaglia '00 Outstanding Student Leader of the Year Memorial Award.
