Bronx Student Receives Dr. Mary C. Stuart Medal for History

RIVERDALE, NY (05/20/2013)(readMedia)-- The College of Mount Saint Vincent is proud to announce Nestor Gonzalez has received this year's Dr. Mary C. Stuart Medal in History, recognizing academic excellence in a graduating history major.

During his time at the College, Mr. Gonzalez earned outstanding grades in a wide range of courses, from Medieval Europe to the United Nations to International Terrorism. He completed his senior research project on the Tokugawa Shogunate in Japan. History faculty members have praised Mr. Gonzalez's "erudition" and "positive demeanor." After graduation, Mr. Gonzalez will pursue a career as a high school history teacher.

Mr. Gonzalez received the award during the 101st Baccalaureate Awards and Hooding Ceremony on Friday, May 17th 2013 before an audience of students, faculty, administrators, trustees, parents and honored guests.
