Wisconsin Lutheran College senior Andrew Bruggink, from Brookfield, WI, has been named the 2019-2020 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Player of the Year and First Team All-NACC. As a junior, he received NACC Honorable Mention. Bruggink, the NACC's leading scorer at 24.2 points per game, played an integral part as the Warriors collected a share of their first league title in nearly two decades. He led the NACC in field goals (219), free throws (134), and minutes per game (35.5). An all-around player, Bruggink's scoring prowess was on display all season as he registered double figures in every game and scored 30 or more points on six occasions. He also averaged 6.7 boards per game to rank sixth among NACC players while dishing out 3.1 assists and finished the year with three double-doubles. A four-time NACC Student-Athlete of the Week, Bruggink became the 22nd member of the Warriors' 1,000-point club. He is WLC's first NACC Men's Basketball Player of the Year and first for the program since 2002. The Warriors concluded their 2019-2020 season with a 19-7 overall record along with a program-best 16-4 mark in the NACC to claim their first conference championship since 2002.
