ALBANY, NY (06/22/2009)(readMedia)-- William Spearman, president and CEO of Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union, was elected treasurer of the Credit Union Association of New York's board of directors during the Association's Annual Meeting held recently in Albany, NY.
Spearman has been president and CEO of the credit union for 13 years. He led the conversion of the former IBM Employees Federal Credit Union into Mid-Hudson Valley. During his 36 year tenure, Mid-Hudson Valley has grown from a $6 million dollar credit union to one with more than $611 million in assets (as of December 31, 2008).
The Credit Union Association of New York has served as the trade association for the state's credit unions for 92 years. It is the fourth largest association in the country.
