POTSDAM, NY (01/27/2015)(readMedia)-- Community Performance Series will serve up food and entertainment with its tenth annual Gourmet Gals & Guys fundraiser. The event will take place on Saturday, Feb. 7 at 5 p.m. in Thatcher Hall on the SUNY Potsdam campus. Cocktails will be served at 5 p.m., with dinner scheduled for 6 p.m.
Gourmet Gals & Guys was started by CPS in 2006 and continues to be the largest fundraiser in support of the summer musical season.
The tenth anniversary of the event will feature the following local volunteer chefs:
"This year's team of chefs has come together to design an incredible menu. As always, the five-course meal will be prepared and served by a number of faithful community volunteers. Our dedicated staff, equipment and facilities will be provided by PACES, and musical entertainment will include our local jazz favorites, A Finer Line. We are so grateful for the 10 years of participation we've received for this very special event," said CPS Executive Director Amy Flack.
"It's not often you get to make a donation to an organization and get something tangible in return. But that's what happens at the CPS Gourmet Gals & Guys dinner experience," said chef Wally Siebel. "It's an evening of great food and wine, great friends -- new and old -- and great live music. At the same time, you support the organization that brings the best in performing arts to the North Country. It doesn't get any better than that!"
Tickets for the event are $85 per person, with a suggested $15 additional donation in honor of the 25th anniversary of the Community Performance Series. The full menu is available to view online at www.cpspotsdam.org. Reservations must be made by Friday, Jan. 30.
Reservations can be made by calling (315) 267-2277, or in person at the CPS Box Office, located in SUNY Potsdam's new Performing Arts Center, which is open Monday through Friday, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.
The proceeds from the event will help fund the 2015 CPS summer musical productions. This year's season will include "Into the Woods" and "Chicago."
