POTSDAM, NY (01/12/2012)(readMedia)-- Community Performance Series will serve up food and entertainment with its seventh annual Gourmet Guys & A Gal fundraiser. The event takes place Saturday, Jan. 28 at 5 p.m. in Thatcher Hall on the SUNY Potsdam campus.

Gourmet Guys & A Gal was started by CPS in 2006, and continues to be the organization's most important fundraiser. Four local chefs team up to design a gourmet menu just for the occasion.

The chefs include: George Arnold, director of dining services at SUNY Potsdam; Steve Maiocco, executive chef at SUNY Potsdam; Wally Siebel, guest chef at 1844 House restaurant, and Jenny Walker, co-owner and chef at 1844 House.

The five-course dinner will be served by a number of community volunteers and the CPS staff. Musical entertainment for the evening will be provided by local jazz group A Fine Line.

"It's not often you get to make a donation to an organization and get something tangible back in return. But that's what happens at the CPS Gourmet Guys & A Gal dinner experience," said local chef Wally Siebel. "It's an evening of great food and wine, great friends and live music, and at the same time, you support the organization that brings the best in performing arts to the North Country. It doesn't get any better than that!"

Tickets for the event are $75 per person, with proceeds benefiting Community Performance Series. Reservations can be made by calling the CPS Box Office at (315) 267-2277. The Gourmet Guys & A Gal menu is available online at www.cpspotsdam.org. Reservations must be made by Friday, Jan. 20.
