CANTON, NY (07/10/2017) SUNY Canton will be hosting the popular Camp Invention summer science, technology, engineering and math immersion program beginning during the third week of July. Space is still available on a limited basis for elementary school-age students.
The program runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday for two sessions during the weeks of July 17 to 21 and July 24 to 28 in the college's Richard W. Miller Campus Center.
"Students who enjoy science, math and engineering are more likely to find career success throughout their lives," said Camp Invention Director Rhonda Rodriguez. "Camp Invention helps today's youth see that science is not just a textbook, that math is not just a question to answer on a state test. Science is messy. It's about asking questions and digging for the answers."

Camp Invention is a national program presented by the National Inventors Hall of Fame, with a mission of honoring inventors, inspiring creativity and challenging the next generation. SUNY Canton Associate Professor Ronald Tavernier discovered Camp Invention and helped bring it to the college in 2011.
