Carl Fowlkes joins McDaniel College as Director of Annual Giving

WESTMINSTER, MD (09/16/2013)(readMedia)-- McDaniel College announces Carl Fowlkes as director of annual giving.

In this role, he is tasked with developing, implementing and assessing fundraising programs, with specific focus on increasing alumni participation, as well as the level of support for the Fund for McDaniel. The Fund for McDaniel helps defray expenses not covered by reasonable tuition fees, such as scholarships for students, salary support for faculty, and the acquisition of new classroom technologies.

"We are delighted to have Carl aboard," said Lori Lewis, vice president for institutional advancement. "His experience and knowledge will make him a valuable colleague as we strengthen annual support that funds the College's educational mission."

Fowlkes of Rockville, Md., was formerly a director of individual major gifts at the University of Maryland's Clark School of Engineering. He previously worked for the Brookings Institution, Virginia Tech, Johns Hopkins Medical School and the University of Connecticut. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan.
