Carthage's Model United Nations students traveled to Copenhagen, Denmark to attend the Copenhagen Business School Model United Nations (CBSMUN) conference.
Over the course of four days, these Carthage students debated and passed resolutions on such diverse topics as: assessing the situation in Venezuela; addressing the impact of development assistance cuts on achieving zero hunger and gender equality in Sub-Saharan Africa; addressing humanitarian concerns in European refugee detention centers; balancing resource exploitation and environmental stewardship in the Arctic; the future of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) in modernizing commercial air travel; and renegotiating the 2015 Greek bailout negotiation round.
The students were accompanied by Professor of Communication and Public Relations Jon Bruning and Professor Emeritus of Political Science Jeffrey Roberg. More than 250 delegates, representing 44 nationalities from 47 universities, were in attendance.
Model UN helps students to sharpen their skills through research, writing, public speaking, and diplomacy. Model UN is open to students of all majors.
