Champaign native performs in Beloit College orchestra concert

BELOIT, WI (12/07/2011)(readMedia)-- Palmer Gunderson will perform in Beloit College's orchestra concert on Wednesday, Dec. 7. Gunderson is a junior and a graduate of Champaign Central High School. He is the son of Jon and Tracy Gunderson.

The Beloit College Orchestra is composed of 40 players, representing all graduating classes at Beloit. Most of the students are non-music majors. The orchestra is conducted by David Anderson, and this concert will feature "Overture to Nabucco" by Giuseppe Verdi, the fourth movement of "Symphony No. 8" by Antonin Dvorák, and "Symphony No. 1" by Ludwig van Beethoven.

Beloit College is a residential, liberal arts college offering 40 majors to its 1,250 students. Located 90 miles northwest of Chicago, Beloit is one of the nation's most international colleges, drawing students from 41 nations as well as 48 states.
