Forest Lake native awarded study abroad scholarship

BELOIT, WI (06/03/2014)(readMedia)-- Forest Lake native Madeleine Hallberg, a rising junior from Beloit College, has been awarded the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship to help support study abroad during the fall 2014 semester.

Hallberg will travel to Morocco to study elements of Moroccan textile design and how globalization impacts the textile industry.

Established by the International Academic Opportunity Act of 2000, the Gilman Scholarship Program provides awards for U.S. undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding at a two-year or four-year college or university to participate in study and intern abroad programs worldwide.
